Torture Faux Pas

VIEW ALL: Torture

The U.S. Government has admitted that it “made mistakes in the treatment of prisoners” during a meeting of the U.N. Committee Against Torture.

Mistakes?

A mistake is more like, “we housed five guys in a cell that’s meant to house three.” Not we stacked naked Iraqis in lewd cheerleading pyramids while various grinning idiots gave the thumbs up sign.

The U.N. Convention Against Torture, adopted in 1984, requires periodic reports to the U.N. Committee to ensure compliance. This is the first time the United States has asked for an accounting. The United States has tortured to death 29 detainees since the “War on Terror” started.

This doesn’t include any “mistakes” at secret prisons.
